RETURN TO HUMAN RETREAT

HIDE TANNING EDITION

SEPTEMBER 25-28, 2026

RHODODENDRON, OREGON

---

WELCOME

Come gather with us in the deep Cascadian forest.

We will spend three nights right on the edge of Mt.Hood National Forest & the Salmon-Huckleberry Wilderness, surrounded by towering firs, moss-covered cedar, wild huckleberries, and the Sandy River that runs near by. In this quiet forest refuge, we will remember how to live in rhythm with land, body, and community.

Our days will be spent moving, learning, feasting, hiking, crafting, and resting.

We will cook ancestral foods together.
We will bark tan a sheep hide with our hands.
We will move our primal bodies.
We will breathe forest air.
We will forage in the wilderness.
We will return to human.

---

THIS RETREAT IS FOR YOU IF

• You crave time in nature with grounded community
• You want to learn ancestral skills like hide tanning
• You’re seeking a movement practice that feels natural and sustainable
• You’re curious about nose-to-tail cooking
• You crave real nourishment - bone broth, wild foods, regenerative meats, animal fats, seasonal produce
• You feel called to return to natural rhythms - morning light in your eyes and nourishing dinners by candlelight

---

WHY THIS MATTERS

Modern life pulls us away from what keeps us well.
In community, in nature, eating nourishing foods, moving our bodies, and learning ancestral crafts,
we remember how to live with resilience, creativity, and joy.
We return home grounded, capable, and connected.
We return to human.

We welcome folks from all walks of life and skill levels.

FEATURING

PRIMAL MOVEMENT with TIM MATZ / MOVE LIKE HUMAN

Each morning we gather for a morning movement practice.

Each evening we wind down with restorative movement, breath work, decompression therapy and self-massage to calm the nervous system and integrate the day.

Learn how to naturally integrate a simple primal movement practice into your daily life.

HI, I'M TIM MATZ.

Father, husband, traditional bow hunter, and multidisciplinary movement coach.

Through a synthesis of many schools of practice and emphasizing the natural environment, my aim is to empower you to take responsibility for your health through effective and accessible education. Armed with the understanding that nature heals, my aim is to inspire you to get back to your natural habitat and facilitate a thriving community filled with deep bond-building between myself and others with shared aspirations and values. Here, we call this revillaging.

Reclaim your birthright to be strong, mobile, and pain-free, now and for the rest of your life.
